I Thought I’d Escaped the 20th Century – print series

The prints in this series correspond with moments in the video, I Thought I’d Escaped the 20th Century. They were made with the same raw materials, a set of colour gels, a form of photo-world detritus from the last century. The creation of each print is based on a moment in the video, which is listed in the work’s title. They are printed on a recently-released Kodak chromogenic paper that has a ‘backlit’ look – it matches the look of today’s screen-based images and older backlit media such as neon and stained glass.
